Bob’s Spalding Purples

The Purple mutation has been around for many decades and is one of the highly desired mutations due in part that it is not a “brown” based color. It was first discovered and identified as a sex linked mutation in the India blue population and shortly thereafter it made its way into the Spalding world. The hybridization of India blue Peafowl x Green Peafowl is incredibly challenging and adding the sex linked mutation proved to be even more of a challenge. It has taken us many years of selective and cyclic breeding of purple to Imports and we can now offer them in limited quantities for the 2026 season.
